I have bought a lot of Rocks and Mineral Encyclopedia's, and though they have been really fine books, this one really is an Encyclopedia. There are a lot of pictures, some color ()some black and white (), 45 drawings of rare specimens. There is also alphbetically organized entries/5(11).
When I open this book I was amazed at the quality of the color pictures and all the info on each mineral. This book is an extreme value for the pictures alone.
The pictures of rare and beautiful minerals are exceptional. The mineral information can be used for beginner on up, A must have book for any by: 8.
